Abstract |
Results of preliminary studies on the comparative sensitivity of Campylobacter jejuni and Escherichia coli to inactivation by chlorine are presented. The results indicate that C. jejuni is equally or more sensitive to inactivation by free chlorine as the E. coli test strain. Chlorination procedures employing free chlorine that are effective for inactivation of E. coli should also be effective for inactivating the pathogen C. jejuni. |
