Any worker who might become involved in the handling of pesticides should not only be well informed about the effectiveness of various chemicals in control of insects, weeds, fungi, and other pests, but also he should be well acquainted with the potential health hazards involved in the use of these materials. The following information concerning the toxicity of the more widely used pesticides, as well as some suggested precautions to follow when using such compounds, should be helpful to anyone working with pesticides.
