Abstract |
A preliminary one-week flow-visualization study was conducted on a 100 m high, isolated hill in a flat, broad river basin. Limited meteorological observations were made to aid in the interpretation of the flow-visualization results. The site was judged to be well-suited for the first phase of extensive studies to gain understanding of the physical mechanisms governing flow and diffusion of pollutants in complex terrain, in particular, plume impingement under stable flow conditions. |
