Abstract
A design procedure and method to calculate settleable solids retention efficiency has been prepared for a combined sewer overflow regulator, using the principle of developing helical flow in an enlarged, curved extension of a sewer. A curved side overflow weir is used to draw off the clarified combined sewer overflow. Hydraulic and mathematical model studies were used in developing the helical flow concept and the design procedure. The reports of each model study are included.
