Abstract
The variation of urban runoff quality was investigated with the duration and intensity of storms. The data obtained were analyzed using stepwise linear regression to determine significant trends in how storm characteristics and antecedent conditions affect runoff quality. The project utilized a 223-acre watershed located within south-central Lubbock, Texas although the results should be applicable to other areas. Samples were analyzed for total and fecal coliform, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, total residue, volatile residue, total suspended solids, volatile suspended solids, pH, alkalinity, nitrate nitrogen, and orthophosphate.
