Abstract
This document summarizes a technical, environmental and economic assessment of the feasibility of utilizing small modular incinerator systems for solid waste disposal in municipal and industrial applications. Explains the controlled air concept of the two-chamber incinerator and briefly describes its development and application. Presents results of field tests at the chosen sites - one municipal and one industrial. Provides a detailed analysis of the incinerator-heat recovery operation on the environment, specifically the atmosphere, the discharged process water, the landfills for refuse disposal, and the plant areas. Presents a detailed economic evaluation including capital costs, operating and maintenance costs, revenues, and net operating costs.
