Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Third Symposium on the Application of Short-Term Bioassays in the Analysis of Complex Environmental Mixtures was held January 25-27, 1982, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The symposium proceedings contains 37 research articles and review papers that discuss the current development and use of short-term testing to evaluate potential human health hazards of environmental chemical exposure. Three sections of the document are devoted to the development of short-term bioassays for carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, and teratology. Other sections address the collection and preparation of environmental samples, the application of bioassays to the characterization of hazardous components, and the integrated approach to environmental assessment. |
