Abstract |
The paper discusses an EPA project involving a mobile laboratory for continuous monitoring of emissions and operating parameters of hazardous waste incinerators. This Hazardous Air Pollutants Mobile Laboratory (HAPML), easily transported for use by research projects at a variety of incinerators, provides an integrated sampling and analytical package for evaluation and development of continuous and semi-continuous monitors for hazardous waste incinerators. The HAPML recently participated in a field test to examine the total mass emissions from an incinerator during steady state and transient conditions. The HAPML acquired continuous emission monitoring data and on-line gas chromatograph/flame ionization detector (GC/FID) hydrocarbon data. The paper discusses the development of the HAPML, its capabilities, data obtained while monitoring a hazardous waste incinerator, and future plans. |
