| Abstract |
In 1975, a cooperative research effort was initiated to evaluate a variety of diets and diet regimes for the laboratory culture of a marine larval fish. The Atlantic silverside Menidia menidia was chosen on the basis of its regional availability, ease of handling in the laboratory and its use as a bioassay organism. A major consideration was to develop a diet that would provide good growth and survival and provide a test fish similar to its wild counterpart. |
