Abstract |
2,3,4,6-Tetrachlorophenol (TCP) was administered by gavage in olive oil to timed-pregnant CD rats at doses of 0, 25, 100, or 200 mg/kg/day on gestational days (gd) 6-15. No significant maternal effects were noted at 25 to 100 mg/kg/day TCP. At 200 mg/kg/day TCP, corrected maternal weight gain was significantly depressed below controls. During the post-treatment period, all TCP-exposed groups consumed significantly more food than the control group. Embryo/fetal growth and prenatal viability were not adversely affected by TCP exposure, nor was there any definitive evidence of an effect of TCP upon fetal morphological development. |
