Abstract
Control Technique Guideline (CTG) documents have been prepared by the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards of the U.S. EPA to assist the states in defining reasonably available control technology (RACT) for the control of volatile organic compound emissions from existing stationary sources. This document summarizes those CTGs issued as of January 1978 including a design criteria document for gasoline service stations. A description of each source category is provided, along with RACT and costs to retrofit a model facility. Source categories included are: surface coating of cans, metal coils, fabric, paper products, automobile and light duty trucks, metal furniture, magnet wire, and large appliances; gasoline terminals, bulk plants and service stations; fixed roof petroleum storage tanks; miscellaneous refinery sources; cutback asphalt; and solvent metal cleaning (degreasing).
