Abstract
Analytical methods and instrumentation were evaluated for collecting and analyzing carcinogenic and mutagenic vapors occurring in ambient air. The areas of investigation included (a) the evaluation of Tenax GC sorbent for in situ reactions that may occur during the collection of organic vapors from ambient air; (b) the development and evaluation of a permeation system for delivering precise quantities of organic vapors for calibrating instruments; and (c) the characterization and quantification of hazardous organic vapors in ambient air collected at several different geographical areas within the Continental U.S. (Portions of this document are not fully legible)
