"When the volumes of 'Contributions to a science of nematology' were assembled ... the two plates of mononchs (p. 185 to 188 inclusive) could not be found. In order to make the volumes complete for binding, reproductions of these plates were made, by lithoprinting ..." cf. unnumbered leaf inserted after p. 184. Most of the articles were reprinted from Journal of the Washington academy of sciences, Soil science, Proceedings of the Helminthological society of Washington and other scientific periodicals.
