| Abstract |
An inventory of land use was compiled for the U.S. basin in 1973 and 1974 for PLUARG (Pollution from Land Activities Reference Group), by the Laboratory for Applications of Remote Sensing (LARS), of Purdue University using LANDSAT I satellite data. This state-of-the-art pioneering work was done on a county basis with emphasis on urban, agriculture, and forest land uses. By spring 1977 PLUARG needed refinement of that information. Technology for the utilization of LANDSAT satellite data had improved since the earlier efforts. |
