Abstract |
AIRSILVA is a model of mixed conifer forest community dynamics incorporating the population modeling capability of gap models and the mechanistic ecophysiology of process models to create a model where processes occur within individuals, and the failure of individuals to successfully complete processes results in population level dynamics. The purpose of AIRSILVA is to synthesize the best available knowledge on the effects of air pollutants on the mixed conifer forests of southern California, and to project potential ecosystem responses under alternative pollution scenarios. |
