Abstract |
This report examines trends over the past 10 years (1965-74) in ambient concentrations for 11 metals: beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, cobalt, iron, lead, manganese, nickel, titanium, and vanadium. The trends are derived from samples collected from 92 urban and 16 nonurban hi-vol stations in the National Air Surveillance Network. For purposes of presentation, the trace metals were grouped into two broad categories: the metals related to fuel combustion and those related to industry. Possible reasons for the trends observed are given for most of the metals studied. |
