Abstract
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is investigating the coke making industry to characterize hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) emitted from coke oven pushing operations and combustion (underfire) stacks. This test report addresses pushing emissions from a coke oven and emissions from the combustion (underfire) stack that serves coke Battery No. 2 at Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Burns Harbor Division in Chesterton, Indiana. The purpose of this test program was to quantify emissions from the inlet and outlet of the baghouse that controls pushing emissions and to quantify emissions from the combustion stack outlet. The data may be used by EPA in the future to support a residual risk assessment for coke oven facilities. This is Appendix C.
