Abstract
The report gives results of a determination of the operating characteristics of three full-scale electrostatic precipitators (ESP's), made to provide definitive data on their performance. The measured performance of these ESP's was compared with the theoretically predicted efficiencies computed by an ESP mathematical model. Field measurements of total inlet and outlet mass concentrations, particle size distributions, and electrical data were used for these comparisons. Descriptions of the measurement procedures and the mathematical model are included. Two of the ESP's were at electric power generating stations; the third, at a cement kiln.
