Abstract |
The book serves to introduce the non-biologist to the life sciences as they relate to water pollution and its control. The professional biologist, inexperienced in water pollution investigations, will find the book a quick introduction to field studies of polluted streams, lakes and artificial impoundments. For the professional investigator, sources of further information, both general and detailed, are set forth in the selected references and bibliography to help in his field studies--an underlying feature of the national effort to conserve and protect our water resources.
