Abstract |
The paper reports results from tests designed to examine some of the factors influencing the emissions of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDDs/Fs) from burn barrels. Results from PCDDs/Fs and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are reported, along with that from statistical analyses of the influence of waste compositional and combustion variables on their emissions. The uncontrolled burning of household waste in barrels has recently been implicated as major source of PCDDs/Fs and PCBs. |
