Abstract |
The report gives results of a study aimed at minimizing emissions from coke-oven door seals. It identifies problems associated with the sealing of slot-type coke oven end closures, and quantifies them to a limited degree by test results presented in the report. It analyzes coke-oven door sealing systems--those which have been developed in the past, as well as those currently in use--with respect to individual strengths and weaknesses. It develops and critically analyzes concepts to improve the seal design, and recommends the development of the two most favorable concepts. |
