| Abstract |
To provide the Effluent Guidelines Division of USEPA with a means of measuring the concentration of pollutants in municipal and industrial wastewaters, the USEPA's Environmental Monitoring and Support Laboratory in Cincinnati, and the Environmental Research Laboratory in Athens, Georgia, collaborated on a research project that resulted in an analytical protocol that was successfully applied to a variety of wastewaters. The gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) procedures in that protocol for the measurement of organic pollutants were the forerunners of methods 624 and 625 that appear in this manual. |
