Abstract
The paper gives an overview of the characteristics of coal-fired industrial boilers in Taiwan and projections of the cost and performance data for retrofitting several boilers with reburning. The impacts of reburning fuel type on the reburning system design and cost effectiveness are also examined and are shown to be an important factor for reburning application in Taiwan. The goal of the demonstration will be to achieve a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission reducting of more than 50% with no adverse impacts on boiler performance or operation. The results of the project will hopefully demonstrate that reburning can be applied to reduce Nox emissions from industrial boilers.
