Abstract |
The guide provides guidance to waste generators and regultory officials in the use of chemical stabilization/solidification techniques for limiting hazards posed by toxic wastes in the environment. The current state and performance of hazardous waste disposal and long-term storage techniques are discussed. Also examined are the regulatory considerations, current and proposed technology, testing procedures and design of landfills, and other options involved in disposal systems using stabilization/solidification of wastes. A summary of the major physical and chemical properties of treated waste is presented. A listing of major suppliers of stabilization/solidification technology and a summary of each process is included. |
