| Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a technology research, demonstration and evaluation program to promote the use of innovative technologies for the treatment and destruction of hazardous waste materials. In response to the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA), the Office of Research and Development (ORD) and OSWER have established the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) program to accelerate the development and use of alternative technologies at Superfund sites. The SITE program will provide assurance on performance data and cost information on those technologies. |
