Abstract
The WMAC team at the Colorado State University performed an assessment at a plant that manufactures commercial food service equipment. Raw materials used by the plant include stainless, mild steel, aluminum, and copper and brass. Operations performed in the plant include cutting, forming, bending, welding, polishing, painting, and assembly. The team's report, detailing findings and recommendations, indicated that paint-related wastes are generated in large quantities and that significant cost savings could be achieved by retrofitting the water curtain paint spray booth to operate as a dry filter paint booth.
