Abstract
The report documents the development of the low NOx combustion cost algorithm for industrial boilers. It describes the methods used to develop capital and annualized costs. The boiler size range examined covers units with capacities ranging from 100 to 1300 million Btu/hr heat input for coal firing, with oil- or gas-fires units as small as 10 million Btu/hr. All costs presented are in June 1985 dollars. The algorithm will become part of the Industrial Combustion Emission (ICE) model being developed for the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program (NAPAP). Low NOx combustion is one of several technologies being developed specifically for application to existing uncontrolled boilers.
