Abstract
The Chesapeake Technical Support Laboratory (CTSL), Middle Atlantic Region, Federal Water Pollution Control Administration (FWPCA), has undertaken an extensive water quality management study of the Potomac River Basin. A significant part of this study has been to determine the sources of nutrients, their effects on water quality, and the development of a corrective program to achieve water quality standards. The report is on the nutrient concentrations and loadings in the upper Potomac River Basin above Washington, D.C.
