Abstract |
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has published a Standard Guide D 6589 for Statistical Evaluation of Atmospheric Dispersion Model Performance. Within the Annex to this ASTM Guide, a procedure is outlined for assessing the performance of atmospheric transport and diffusion models to predict the average maximum 'centerline' concentration values of a chemical species that has been released from a point source. The EPA has developed a FORTRAN program called 'Design 2' that implements the procedure documented within the Annex to ASTM Standard Guide D 6589, for the statistical evaluation of the performance of transport and diffusion models to simulate the average 'centerline' concentration values. This report describes the input files and formats of these input files for running Design 2. The report describes the information provided by the various output files created by Design 2. The report does not describe the actual statistical procedures of Standard Guide D 6589, as these are documented in detail within this Guides Annex. |
