The second report of a two report series presents the results of original research on the extent to which secondary development can be attributed to highways and wastewater treatment and collection systems, and what conditions under which causal relations appear to exist. Case studies of recent development trends were made in four metropolitan regions: Boston, Massachusetts, Denver, Colorado, Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. Data for the four metropolitan regions were analyzed using econometric techniques and simulation modeling.
