Abstract
As a guideline for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), Subdivision G provides guidance to the registrant on developing product performance data that the Agency may require to demonstrate the effectiveness of their pesticide product in controlling the pests specified in the claims on their product label. This subdivision is organized into section series which describe efficacy data for specific types of pesticides used on distinct classes of pests. Guidance on test methodology and protocols to support label claims are also presented. Discussions concerning when the submission of efficacy data is required are also presented as a foundation for the regulatory pesticide data requirements (40 CFR Part 158). Submission of efficacy data is generally waived, except for products claiming control of pest microorganisms that pose a threat to human health and whose presence cannot be observed by the user, including microorganisms infectious to man in the inanimate environment and in situations where the Agency may require data on a case-by-case basis. Subdivision G constitutes one volume of a twelve-part FIFRA guideline series published by the National Technical Information Service.
