"EMEP Co-operative programme for monitoring and evaluation of the long range transmission of air pollutants in Europe"--Cover. "July 1996." "This report was prepared for the twentieth session of the Steering Body of EMEP (Cooperative Programme for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long Range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe). It presents results from a co-operation between the EUROTRAC sub-programme EUMAC (European Modelling of Atmospheric Constituents) and the MSC-W. An analysis of the EMEP Acid Deposition model with 150 km horizontal resolution and the EURAD-model (European Regional Air Pollution Dispersion model) is given. In addition to a comparison of the two models by use of measurements we have highlighted (1) the non-linearity issue of the acid deposition and (2) the nitrogen chemistry. The aim has been to make benefit of the experiences gained in this study in the further development and application of models at MSC-W"--Pref. Includes bibliographic references.
