Abstract
As a result of stratospheric ozone depletion, ultraviolet-B radiation (200-320 nm; UV-B) reaching marine environments is likely to increase over the next few decades. Available information suggests that UV-B radiation can have a variety of deleterious effects on marine ecosystems. The purpose of the report is to point to the current uncertainties in existing information and to speculate on the range of possible effects.
