| Abstract |
The precipitation process in the New York metropolitan area has been studied from physical and synoptic points of view. Influences of topography and urban growth have been considered. Relevant synoptic conditions include extra tropical cyclones and air mass thunderstorms. With these controlling factors in mind, monthly and annual precipitation characteristics were analyzed for trends and variability. |
