Abstract |
A simple bioassay for detecting phytotoxic air pollutants has been developed. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seedlings growing on agar medium in test-tubes are exposed to pollutants for 2 h. Stress-ethylene produced by the seedlings during exposure to the pollutants is collected in the test-tube and quantitatively measured by gas chromatography. |
