Abstract |
The report contains a summary and an analysis of data collected by the U.S. EPA from 1977 to 1981, which relate to the characteristics of controlled and uncontrolled waste streams from low- and medium-Btu coal gasification processes. The analysis focuses on the key waste streams which are likely to require control in a commercial coal gasification facility and identifies the pollutants which will have the greatest impacts on pollution control process selection, design, and/or performance. It indicates key data gaps and areas of process/performance uncertainty which should be considered by permit writers and reviewers of proposed environmental monitoring plans. |
