"Summary data are given for nitrogen and phosphorus lost during runoff events during a 2-year study of two small watersheds in the Great Lakes Basin. Patterns of runoff and sedimentation observed on the two watersheds are described in relation to weather conditions at different seasons of the year. Data are presented for ammonium, nitrate, and total nitrogen in the water phase and for ammonium and total nitrogen in the sediment phase. Soluble orthophosphate and total phosphorus concentrations in the water phase and available and total phosphorus in the sediment phase are given. Analysis of soil cores for nitrate, ammonium, and Kjeldahl nitrogen after each major runoff even. Detailed descriptions of soils, typography, instrumentation, operational procedures, and management methods are included." -- Abstract page iv |
