Abstract |
Design and cost relationships for various modifications of the aerobic digestion process for disposal of waste organic sludges are given. For example, the aerobic digester can be operated on a continuous basis with a settler or on a fill and draw basis. The aerobic digester can be used for reducing the volume of waste activated sludge only or for digesting a combination of primary and waste activated lsudge. The concentration of other constituents such as phosphorus and nitrogen in the effluent streams is also calculated. (Author) |
