Abstract
The purpose of the report is to provide environmental engineers and planners with a systematic method for assessing water quality impacts from combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and for evaluating the effect of certain controls. The methodology is presented together with examples and discussion designed to provide the user with the information necessary to accomplish the following: Make a preliminary assessment of the relative impact of CSOs on a receiving water; Identify feasible control alternatives; and Make effective use of available site-specific data and published literature values, and thereby avoid costly and time consuming field studies in some cases.
