Abstract |
This research was undertaken to evaluate the adequacy of using a mass balance technique with daily municipal wastewater treatment plant data to determine combined sewer runoff and overflow characteristics. The bias and variability associated with the mass balance technique together with a theoretical analysis of the plant measurement error effects are presented. The unit loads and average concentrations from the New York City 26th Ward Treatment Plant area as well as the effect of rainfall characteristics on combined sewer runoff concentrations are also presented. |
