Details are given for the first year of full-scale operation of the Analytical Methodology Information Center which was designed to collect, process, and disseminate information on analytical methods related to aquatic and marine environments for the Analytical Quality Control Laboratory and other elements of the National Analytical Methods Development Research Program. The main activities of the Center included an extensive acquisitions program, abstracting and indexing at the rate of about 200 items per month, providing abstracts to the Water Resources Scientific Information Center, publication of an abstract bulletin, maintenance of a computerized information/data base which is on-line interactive, provision of limited loan and copy services, and availability of quick response inquiry services. The value of the interactive information/data base has been further enhanced by the addition of chemical effects (toxicity) data. (Modified author abstract)
