Abstract
This document addresses to expected impacts including both improvements to public health and costs to industry and consumers of the Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (IESWTR). Factors considered in this Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) were: protection of public health, exposure, health hazards, risk assessment and uncertainty, benefits comparison, and household cost comparisons. On the basis of this RIA, EPA determined that the benefits of the IESWTR justify its costs. Appendices contain various cost analyses and projections.
