Abstract
The Waste Minimization Assessment Center (WMAC) team at the University of Tennessee performed an assessment at a plant that manufactures several varieties of electrical rotating devices. The team's report, detailing findings and recommendations, indicated that spent solutions from the four-stage aqueous cleaner are the waste streams generated in the greatest quantity and that significant cost savings could be achieved by discontinuing the use of Freon vapor degreasing for precision parts cleaning.
