Abstract |
Interest has been increasing regarding development of methods for the analysis of water soluble polyelectrolytes at trace levels in wastewater effluents and ambient waters. To that end a literature search was undertaken. The effort resulted in a total of 22 polyelectrolyte analytical procedures which were assigned to one of 11 method categories. Among the methods identified during the study, nephelometry/turbidimetry, spectrophotometry, spectrofluorometry, luminescence titration and pyrolysis gas chromatography appear to meet or approach a number of the desired criteria for polyelectrolyte analysis in wastewaters. |
