Abstract | The paper describes a 'prototype' program initiated by U.S. EPA's Drinking Water Research Division (Cincinnati, Ohio), Region V Drinking Water Program (Chicago, Illinois), and Technology Evaluation Section (Edison, New Jersey) to inventory the types of drinking water related technology being applied at Superfund sites. Data from local utilities and State-funded sites were also included, accounting for nearly half the data collected at this time. Ground water as well as surface water sites were inventoried. Future monitoring and research could focus on organic contaminants subject to variable influent and on other toxic wastes. |
