Abstract
Ground water is a natural resource that can be expected to become increasingly valuable as a water source. Unattended, it may become extensively polluted, resulting in great loss of value. The manual covers ground water pollution problems broadly and is intended for use by the layman or by a state agency interested in examining state laws and regulations affecting this resource. The manual describes ground water resources and sources of pollution, then surveys existing regulations that affect ground water quality. Suggestions for ground water pollution control are supplied, primarily in the form of regulatory provisions. These suggestions are offered as guides for selection or modification by a state according to its particular needs, since no single program of ground water management would be applicable in all locations.
