Abstract
The report describes a study of the wastewater management practices in the paint and inorganic pigments industries. Information was obtained from 153 plants manufacturing paints, ten titanium dioxide plants, and ten plants that produce other inorganic pigments. The data were analyzed to identify the sources and characteristics of wastewater from the manufacturing processes of these plants, to determine the practices for wastewater control and treatment that are presently employed, and to identify deficiencies in technology that may require research and development to improve control and treatment methods.
