This book describes the most commonly used methods in designing, implementing, and analyzing a nonmarket valuation study. The first chapters provide the context and theoretical foundation of nonmarket valuation along with a discussion of data collection. The middle chapters describe major stated- and revealed-preference valuation methods, for which the steps are carefully explained. The final chapters examine experimentation to economic valuation, the transfer of existing nonmarket values to new settings, and the reliability and validity of nonmarket values.
