Abstract
A procedure for characterizing emissions of carbon monoxide occurring within parking lots as line sources of pollution is described. A line source dispersion model (HIWAY) is then used to illustrate an approach for estimating the maximum impact of emissions from vehicles in parking lots on nearby 1- and 8- hour ambient concentrations of carbon monoxide.
