In the spring of 1970, Volume 1: Program Criteria, and Volume 2: Curriculum Guidelines, Criteria for Establishment of Two Year Post High School Wastewater Technology Programs, were completed and three two year post high school institutions were selected to implement the program. The institutions used these two volumes as guides and continued to develop lesson plans and instructional materials. With the experience gained by these institutions, it is now time to revise Volume 1 so that other institutions can benefit from the experience of this initial two year effort. The goal of this document is to assist other institutions in evaluating their own readiness and ability to conduct an instructional program for wastewater treatment plant technicians, and to suggest a system that they might follow in accomplishing this objective.
